Saudi Arabia issues tenders for Riyadh Expo 2030 infrastructure

Building the Future: How Expo 2030 Riyadh Is Taking Shape — and Where Nuwa Partners Fits In

Saudi Arabia’s Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC) has launched the first round of infrastructure tenders for the Expo 2030 site — a milestone moment in the delivery of one of the most transformative projects in the Kingdom’s history.

At Nuwa Partners, we see this as the inflection point where global ambition meets tangible opportunity. Our role is to help investors, brands, and businesses navigate the complex ecosystem surrounding Expo 2030 Riyadh — from early-stage infrastructure to long-term commercial, hospitality, and legacy ventures that will shape the next decade of Saudi growth.

The Foundations of a Global Stage

The initial phase of the Expo 2030 infrastructure works has been divided into three major packages:

  • Lot 1: Main utilities corridor

  • Lot 2: Northern cluster of the nature corridor

  • Lot 3: Southern cluster of the nature corridor

Tenders for Lot 1 were issued on 21 September, with technical bids due by 26 October and commercial bids by 9 November. The award is expected in December, setting the stage for full-scale construction.

This is more than a construction project — it is the beginning of an ecosystem that will span architecture, technology, sustainability, mobility, and design. Nuwa Partners is already engaging with clients across these sectors to identify where strategic partnerships, investment participation, and innovation can converge within the Expo framework.

Momentum Builds Ahead of 2030

Following ERC’s earlier expressions of interest and contractor bids for site offices, the momentum around Expo 2030 is accelerating rapidly.

The appointment of Bechtel Corporation as Project Management Consultant (PMC) underscores the international scale of the undertaking. This global collaboration mirrors the kind of partnership ecosystem that Nuwa Partners is cultivating — one that connects Saudi entities, global innovators, and forward-looking investors across all stages of development.

A Vision Rooted in Legacy

Covering 6 square kilometres, the Expo 2030 Riyadh site will be one of the largest ever developed for a World Expo. Located north of Riyadh, adjacent to the future King Salman International Airport, the venue is designed to ensure seamless connectivity with the capital’s cultural, commercial, and hospitality districts.

Participating nations will have the option to construct permanent pavilions, creating a physical and economic legacy beyond 2030. Nuwa Partners is working closely with clients to explore opportunities in design, construction, sustainability, cultural programming, and post-Expo redevelopment — ensuring their involvement extends far beyond the event itself.

Driving Economic Growth and Global Collaboration

Launched in June by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), ERC is the entity responsible for delivering and operating the Expo facilities. The project is expected to contribute $64 billion to Saudi GDP during its build phase and generate approximately 171,000 direct and indirect jobs. Once operational, Expo 2030 will contribute a further $5.6 billion annually, welcoming over 40 million visitors.

Nuwa Partners is uniquely positioned to help international businesses, investors, and Saudi enterprises capture these opportunities. Our advisory model bridges strategy and execution — enabling clients to align with government priorities, identify entry points into the Expo ecosystem, and activate meaningful, lasting partnerships.

A Defining Chapter for Vision 2030 — and for Nuwa Partners

Expo 2030 Riyadh is more than an event — it is a statement of national transformation, collaboration, and innovation.

At Nuwa Partners, our mission is to ensure that both global and local stakeholders can unlock the commercial, cultural, and human potential embedded in this historic moment. From infrastructure and investment to IP creation and brand activation, we help our partners design strategies that deliver impact today — and endure long after 2030.
